Reading Program
The state has adopted a new reading program beginning in 2013. Reading Wonders helps to teach the reading Common Core State Standards. Each student has their own account where they are able to read assigned stories, complete worksheets, play spelling and grammar games, and complete weekly and unit assessments. Click here to visit the site. Math Program The state has adopted a new math program beginning in 2014. Stepping Stones math helps to teach the Math Common Core State Standards. KidBiz 3000- Extra Reading Practice
Each student has their own account and our students use KidBiz on a daily basis. KidBiz is an online literacy program that provides students will extra reading support. The articles read on KidBiz is at their reading level. Each article has a set of questions that is used to check students' understanding of the article they have read. Your child is more than welcome to complete articles at home. Please click here to visit the KIdBiz website. Sumdog- Extra Math Practice Each student has their own account on Sumdog. This program provides students will extra math practice while they play fun math games. The practice is provided at their own math ability. Smarter Balanced Assessment-State Mandated Test Our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking this state mandated test. The Smarter Balanced Assessment tests students on all math and reading concepts and skills needed in order to be proficient in the Common Core State Standards. Star Testing- Renaissance Learning This is the test that students in grades 1-5 takes through-out the year to monitor students' progress and proficiency in the Common Core State Standards. The students participate in both the reading and math. Evaluate Our students will be participating in the Evaluate test through-out the year. This will be used to monitor students' progress and Profieciency in the Common Core State Standards. The students participate in both the reading and math. This will also help them to gain the computer skills needed to complete the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
